Heat

2009

Kahlil Gibran from The Prophet:
“Verily you are suspended like scales between your sorrow and joy. Only when you are empty are you at standstill and balanced.”

Heat is an exploration of the struggle to find happiness in the different facets of life. The piece seeks to find the delicate balance between moments of dissatisfaction and extreme elation. Eight dancers portray this dichotomy—finding points of stillness amidst chaos.
